What to Wear for a Mid-Week Event | Hathypical
As a blogger, early evening events and dinners pop up during the week ALL the time - rarely on the weekends. Most of my social life (which, mind you is very limited to begin with) is actually during the weekdays! When I first started out, I never knew what to wear to these mid-week outings because I didn't know whether I should be more understated or dressy. Especially here in LA, things are going to go one of two ways: beach chic or full on Hollywood. I like to take a bit of both.
Simplicity is key! You can always dress it up with a cool jacket or blazer. A top that I really love is this one here by Hathypical. Sporty side-stripes makes for modern chic with this loose, v-neck cami-styled tank. The hint of color keeps it fun! And if you know me, you know I'm always wearing black. The bit of color is good for me, haha!
I also have been loving my black bell bottom pants. It turns every look into a chic 60s/70s vibe. It works really well with this top too because it is super chill but still chic.
If you're wearing more of a low-key look to an event, dress it up with a statement bag! It's a super subtle way to elevate a look. And this gilded gold metallic envelope bag is the perfect touch! See, this is what I meant when I said mixing beach with Hollywood - there's nothing that says Hollywood like metallic gold!
A great coat, whether it's fur or a leather jacket works great to pull it all together. Elevating a look while still keeping it down to earth... it's an art, but it's possible! ;)
