Vintage Vibes at Blossom Atelier | Styling Sesh with Jam Leonard
I have always been a huge fan of all things vintage. I love that there is so much significance and character in certain pieces from decades ago. Being able to mix eclectic items can be challenging at times, so whenever I'm feeling a vintage vibe for brunch I always head to the mecca of all things fabulous and vintage: Blossom Atelier in Santa Monica.
I recently made my way to the shop to receive a private styling session by the one and only celeb stylist, Jam Leonard.
Jam, (who's styled A-listers like Sienna Miller and Matt Damon) is co-owner of Blossom Atelier with her friend Gilena Simons. Blossom Atelier is a true gem on Main Street that boasts not only its one of a kind clothing selection, but its impeccably decorated space where vintage meets boho glamour.
From the moment I walked in, I was stunned at the gorgeous twinkling mood lighting which blended so beautifully with the natural sunlight which shone in from big windows. Every inch of the space was decked with all types of cool items - from jewelry, to trinkets to embellished boots. Of course, there were so many vintage clothes all hanging around the store. My eyes lit up! I was so excited already.
I was greeted by Jam, who was incredibly sweet and down to earth. She showed me around the shop - it was awesome to see that a hair styling station is also set up in the back; you know, because Jam not only is a killer fashion stylist, but also slays hair game too. What other vintage shop do you know that offers hairstyling services too? All the more reason to love Blossom Atelier.
She brought me to the dressing room filled with hand picked vintage items she chose for me to try on. This lady knows her stuff - I fell in love with every item on the spot! She had pulled all sorts of items for me - from kimonos, to beaded dresses, to lace leotards and cut-off tees. Some pieces were really edgy and things I wouldn't normally pick up, so I loved that I had the opportunity to try them on and give them a chance. Sometimes, it takes another pair of eyes to find something unique that could potentially look so great on you - and I'm glad I had this styling guru to help me out!
With every item I tried on, Jam provided her genuine thoughts - if an outfit needed a belt or another accessory, if the dress didn't fit just right, or if the whole outfit was just absolutely "the one." I really appreciated that because there wasn't any pressure and I value when stylists give their honest opinion. Their picks for you are in a way a reflection of them, so it was great hearing insight from Jam on how to style each look.
It was hard to pick just a few items to take home because I truly loved them all, but I went home with vintage Levi's, a braided belt, a peach lace leotard, a black bodycon dress with lace detail, a black sequin tank and a bright floral kimono. Each piece was so unique and I loved how even though they were vintage, they could still be styled in such a modern way. I wanted to take a few choices to create separate casual, elevated casual, and dressy looks.
I had such a fabulous experience at Blossom Atelier. It's so refreshing to walk into a place and be surrounded by positive energy, good vibes and of course awesome one of a kind clothes! Blossom Atelier is more than just a store, it's a shop for inspiration glistening with vintage magic. There's nowhere like it!
Thanks for having me in, Blossom Atelier! I had such a fun experience and love rocking my vintage pieces around LA!
