From Brunch to Bottle Service | Creating a Look For the Brunch That Lives On Past 3 PM

We all know that sometimes, when you're having a little too much fun at brunch, you lose track of time. Especially when bottomless mimosas are offered well into the afternoon.

How many times have I been at a brunch literally the entire day, didn't realize I'd be out for that long, but still have plans at nighttime? Too many to count. 

What I've learned, is that on weekends it's simple: you gotta be prepared. I never really dress down for brunch anyway, but there definitely is a fine line between going to a brunch knowing you're coming straight home after, versus having an open day filled with potential for spontaneity. 

What To Wear To Brunch When You Have No Idea What Time You'll Be Outta there:

HEELS. They add that extra flair any outfit. Plus, you're sitting most of the time, so no complaints that your feet hurt! You'll thank yourself later when you decide to hit up your favorite nightclub. 

A STATEMENT BAG. Another effortless and simple way to dress up an outfit without really trying.

A GLITZY TOP OR SIMPLE MINI DRESS. Either can be appropriate for an all-dayer into a nighter.

This is a lil something I put together that is super appropriate for a "started at brunch, now we here" kind of day. A gilded satin crop top (obviously), loose black pants, nude heels, a vintage sparkly gold star bag (cue the KiraKira app), and my mom's massively perfect gold and ivory starfish earrings from the 80s. 

This is the kind of look that can be so easily transformed from day to night. But of course you're going to need to bring some things with you in your bag to truly complete the look so it's appropriate!

BAG ESSENTIALS - THE STUFF YOU NEED TO TAKE YOUR LOOK FROM BRUNCH TO BOTTLE SERVICE READY

EARRINGS. An effortless and non-bulky accessory to pack along with you for the day to re-vamp your look.

MASCARA. Lashes start getting bleh after like... 8 hours. Do a couple more coats to bring them back to life.

MINI PERFUME OR ROLL-ON. A must have.

PRESSED SETTING POWDER. Again... need I say more?

LIPGLOSS. I always go with lipgloss vs. lipstick because I think there's something super flirty about a little shine. 

From popping champagne at brunch to champagne showers at the club... just do a little light preparation before brunch, and you'll make an easy transition from your different degrees of partying. Cheers!

A Modern 80's-Inspired Brunch Look | My Mom's Vintage Accessories

From the time that I was really young, I had an obsession with the 80s. Something about the music, the style, the aesthetics of products, and simply the way of life back then has always been something I was drawn to. Don't get me wrong, I love being a 90s baby but I wouldn't hate it if I got the chance to live throughout such an iconic time in history!

I have been in such a mood lately to recreate a dope denim on denim 80s-inspired look. I feel like especially in LA, there's so many unique little spots with so much character that you could pull off more of an edgier style rather than just simply wearing a dress to a really trendy spot. Luckily for me, I didn't have to shop far. I raided my mom's closet and found all of her treasured classic 80s jewelry. I was like a kid in a candy shop!

I had one piece of my own that I had been dying to wear but just could never seem to find the right way to wear because I didn't have the right accents - my acid wash denim jacket (which I actually scored for $10 at Urban Outfitters - for once the shopping gods were on my side!).

I paired it with a white crop top, high-waisted distressed denim and black heels. But my accessories were the most fun part.

Chunky, dangling earrings paired with a vintage Chanel bag... need I say more?

My East Coast Take on Dressing California Cool | OC Donut Shop Hangs

I usually go through phases of my outfits and wear them non-stop like a little kid for a few weeks and then don't even pick them up again for another 6 months. With the end of summer here, I have been living in a favorite crop top of mine and frayed jeans. 

If you know me, you know that I am never in one place really... ever. Depending on whatever is going on, I'm in LA, Orange County or San Diego. While all 3 have distinctly different styles, I've found that a great pair of jeans and a crop or tank top is one combo that is a solid go-to no matter which part of SoCal you're in. 

I have been living in these jeans from Zara and ruffle crop top from Melrose in the O.C. and it's the perfect combination of that true "California cool" style we all know, love and try to translate into our own style. Even before I was living in California, I took inspiration from shows like Laguna Beach, The OC and Summerland and incorporated it into my own outfits. It's hard not to want to dress so effortlessly cool like Marissa Cooper or Kristin Cavallari. The real question is, why do I still revert back to characters on shows that ended nearly 10 years ago? I think the whole early 2000s style was so distinct that it made a footprint for what the "California cool" style should be.  To be honest, I love it to this day. 

As a native East Coaster, I am not sure if I could ever go full-fledged California beach bum, but I am happy I can wear crop tops even more often than I could back home. I think the crop top has actually become my signature clothing item... and I'm not mad about it. 

Just add some heels and a choker and I'm (kind of) on that laid-back California chick level with an East Coast edge.

I took me and my end of summer uniform to a cute donut shop called Good Town Doughnuts that I had been wanting to try in Costa Mesa. Because.... ya know, you have to indulge every once in a while and why not look cute doing it? 

So many yummy options, but I went with a vegan matcha donut. I'm a matcha freak so I was excited for this. For my fellow vegan friends, and also my non-vegan friends... this donut tasted more amazing than ever. You would have never guessed it was vegan! It was so sweet and perfectly fluffy, iced with matcha frosting and dusted with matcha powder. Oh, how I could go on and on about how much I love this donut.

Not to mention, it is quite Instagrammable in addition to the space itself. The decor definitely had a low-key California vibe with a vintage touch. It had a gorgeous natural, bright light shining in throughout the shop that really set the tone for a promising donut experience. 

I love finding local hidden gems, and this place is certainly one of them. I feel like sometimes I don't go out of my way to do it enough, so I really enjoyed trying something new. Now, this place is totally on my list of recs for donuts. Just like how I feel that a good brunch experience definitely includes ambiance, so do places like Good Town Doughnuts.

So next time you're there, indulge, take photos... wear a crop top. You can work off your donut filled tummy tomorrow.

VIP Red Carpet Ready Hair Treatment at Bella Nella Salon

For me, having healthy, strong hair is so important. The healthier the locks, the more bounce and life it will have. My brunching escapades require me to have hair that's on point at all times. For anyone, really - when you're all dressed up for your weekend brunch, it's super obvious when your hair is damaged and in need of a deep conditioning treatment.

I found my new favorite salon in Los Angeles - a tiny gem in the heart of Glendale called Bella Nella Salon that specializes in Kerastase hair treatments. Believe me, it is worth the trip out into the valley! When I heard that they are the only salon in the LA area to offer the "VIP Red Carpet Treatment" I knew I had to check it out. I had never gotten a Kerastase treatment before, but I was told that this would be the one deep conditioning I would need to transform my hair back from its outgrown dullness and be back to camera ready! 

When I arrived, I sat right down and started getting my hair washed - it was the beginning of my fabulous Kerastase treatment given to me by the very sweet stylist, Janea! The shampoo and conditioner used was nothing short of top quality:

While shampooing, Janea really took her time in educating me on so much - from the proper way to shampoo hair to the process of each product being used.

Following my thorough and very relaxing washing session, I went straight to the machine that makes all the magic happen - the K-Mist Machine!

Then they wrapped all my hair up and brought me to the K-mist machine. The K-mist machine is like a facial for your hair and helps to open the cuticle of the hair up so the treatments the stylists applied can penetrate deeply into the hair-shaft for maximum healing. 

It was incredibly relaxing. I loved how at the end of the treatment there was a quick rush of cold air from the machine that blew on my hair to lock in the treatment. 

Following the K-Mist Machine, my hair got rinsed and I headed to the salon chair to get an specialized hair consultation and trim from Bella, one of the owners. 

She carefully analyzed my face shape and educated me on what haircuts are the most flattering. She gave a detailed explanation how the proper haircut for a person goes beyond just their face shape, but body type and proportion plays a major role as well. She actually created a book on beauty, essentially Bella Nella's beauty bible that shows an in-depth analysis of how to specific body types and hair types should be catered to. When you feel beautiful and well on the inside, it will radiate on the outside - how you take care of your hair will be an additional asset!

I ended up getting a trim as I wanted to keep my hair length around the same and it was followed with a styling of gorgeous wrap curls! 

My experience at Bella Nella Salon was one that will always stand out for me. The ladies are extensively knowledgable in what they do. I have never been to a salon that has stylists that genuinely take their time into getting to know their clients and making sure they're 100% happy. They don't rush, and it is refreshing! Their passion for haircare, beauty and their clients is very evident through their beautiful work. They really make you feel like home, and it makes the experience that much more enjoyable.

After just one Kerastase treatment, I can honestly say my hair has felt significantly stronger and smoother. I highly recommend the treatment to anyone who needs a deep, nourishing cleanse for their locks. The results really do last, and I couldn't be happier!
