Going Green with Apple Tart // a St. Patrick's Day Cocktail
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
In the spirit of the boozy holiday, I decided to whip up a quick festive cocktail. I dove into my ultimate go-to book for cocktails in mason jars, The Mason Jar Cocktail Companion. It has over 125 drink recipes perfect for every season. I got lucky (pun intended) and immediately stumbled upon the “Apple Tart” cocktail, which just so happened to be St. Patrick’s day green!
It’s a super strong drink that’s tart and sweet, but is almost entirely alcohol. It consists of tequila, apple schnapps, apple juice, and lime. It’s an unusual drink that is tantalizing on the tastebuds and is a gorgeous green hue. It can even kind of be mistaken for your usual $12 green juice, so you can get away with bringing it to work! Kidding, kidding. Unless your job is celebrating, I wouldn't advise doing that. But it's a drink to look forward to and is very fitting for a holiday that falls on Thirsty Thursday.
Here’s the recipe from the book. It was so easy to make and only took about 5 minutes. Irish for the day or not, I’m sure you’ll love this fun bev.
Careful though - too many of these can cause enough liquid confidence to convince that special someone you've been admiring to kiss you today because "you're Irish". As the saying goes, "Irish today, Hungover tomorrow." Good luck!
What you need:
2 oz. tequila
1 oz. apple schnapps
1 oz. apple juice
1 lime (juiced)
1 lime wheel (garnish)
Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker + fill the mason jar with the tequila mixture with ice!
