Getting the Summer Brunch Glow | A Makeup Look Created with Almay and Other Faves
If there's two things I absolutely love about summer, it's that you can sit outside for brunch (!!!) and you can really play up a bronzy, natural glow because the sun is SHINING and we all just have that warm weather essence (finally!). As someone who has naturally super fair skin, I look forward to seeing more sun than usual to give my skin a little boost. But I am always really careful about going out in the sun, so I use a handful of my favorite products to create a natural, yet radiant makeup look that's perfect for every day... but more importantly, that's so fitting for an outdoor brunch amongst the sunny sky!
The makeup I use is always very light and plays up my skin tone, eyes and hair in a really natural way. I never want to be overdone, especially when I will most likely be hanging or dining outside . Who needs cakey makeup when you start to get a little sweaty?
Luckily, NONE of this makeup is applies even remotely cakey which is why I love it so much, and the combination of all really does result in the perfect brunch glow!
A handful of my favorites are the latest and greatest Almay products - so affordable and adds that touch of subtle glam.
Here's what I use to create the look and why I love every product (!!!) so much.
Almay Shadow Squad Eyeshadow: To get the ultimate sunset-inspired, sparkly lid color, I use these little babies in Here Goes Nothing, Never Settle and Pure Gold, Baby. The combination of these three on the lids makes for the most gorgeous shade perfect for summer. A quick sweep of each combined is really all it takes - it's that simple! I use the darker orange shades on the bottom and do a light shade of the peachy pinks and sparkles on top.
Almay Instant Glow Highlighting Duo: These come in 2 shades - Talk Pinky to Me (soft glow) and Pop It On (nude glow). Both of these are gorgeous to highlight the cheek bones and you can even dot a little bit underneath the brow bone or on the bridge of the nose. I love that there is an option to use the stick end versus the liquid. It's really up to you for preference, but I like to use the stick for highlighting the cheek bones, and using the liquid for everywhere else!
Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipstick: Adds just the right amount of moisture and color to the lips to look and feel nourished and plumped! It's super buttery and the shade of pink that I have is just darling - in Pink Light. It comes in a bunch of other different shades as well so you can go darker or lighter depending on your desired look.
Almay Pen Eyeliner: There is nothing like a fabulous black eyeliner to add that perfect "wow" moment to your look. This goes on really smoothly. I use it on my lid and really makes a gorgeous stand out eye look on top of the summery shades.
Touche Éclat Foundation by YSL: I use this in the shade B 50 Honey. It creates the perfect luminous glow. For reference, I am pretty fair-skinned so this really does add a boost of natural color without it looking at all like the wrong shade.
The Gloss by TAN-LUXE: I use this on my chest for an added glow! The Gloss - The ultimate highlighter, instant-tanner in one, The Gloss. Create luminous skin radiance in a flash, delivering colour and glow in one sweep, designed for use on both your face and body. A summer skin essential, this multi tasking stick instantly adds richness, depth of tone and highlight to your tan. A unique blend of Raspberry Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, and Shea Butter leaves skins feeling instantly hydrated and nourished.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer: I use this in Custard under my eyes. It makes such a difference and helps to brighten and make me look more awake. This is my one face makeup item that I can't live without!
