I Checked Out West Hollywood Eat + Drink Week and Here's Why You Should Too
If you know me, you know I love an amazing deal especially if it’s on a meal. One of my favorite things ever is taking advantage of any awesome opportunities that allows you to experience new cuisines and dining experiences. I was so excited to check out West Hollywood’s Eat + Drink Week yesterday, by having a seriously delightful, mouthwatering lunch at Viale dei Romani at the Kimpton La Peer Hotel.
So what’s the West Hollywood Eat + Drink Week anyway? West Hollywood’s first-ever Eat + Drink Week, presented by the West Hollywood Travel + Tourism Board (WHTTB) October 18-27. Love trying new restaurants? Take a look at more than 40 curated menus and special pricing. Participants range from Boxwood at the London, to perennial favorite Connie and Ted's, to vegan outlet Gracias Madre and even the new Lowell Cafe, which is the first cannabis cafe in the country that has been receiving tons of press!
Even better, for every reservation booked through the Open Table link on the website, VWH will make a donation to Project Angel Food.
With a focus on the originality and creativity of the culinary scene and a side of late-night bites and a twist of mixology, the 10-day event (Oct. 18 – 27) offers a full menu of dining experiences for every appetite, style and budget. Forty eateries and bars will feature special menus and special pricing, including the all-new, America's first cannabis cafe.
The special event will celebrates the launch of West Hollywood’s original twist on the traditional restaurant week format, featuring not only dozens of the city’s top restaurants, bistros and cafes, but a focus on the creative mixology and late-night options as well.
I headed to the Eat + Drink Week site and knew I had to check out Viale dei Romani. I sat outside on the gorgeous courtyard and indulged in my lunch. The cool thing about the curated menu is that it offered some of the most popular menu items for you to choose from in a more consolidated list which made it super easy to choose what I wanted. I really love this aspect of the Eat + Drink concept because I was able to check out a couple of the most delicious dishes for such an affordable price. 2 entrees and a glass of wine for $25? You can’t beat it, especially in LA!
I could not get over how freaking DELICIOUS my lunch was. I mean, I was expecting it to be good but I really was impressed. Side note, I am super picky about Italian because I am part Italian and this spot for sure didn’t disappoint. The chopped salad consisted of chickpeas, salami, onions, cherry tomatoes, pepperoncini, black olives, parmigiano and Italian vinaigrette - tasted like a true antipasto salad! The spaghetti all nerano was nothing short of mouthwatering, made with zucchini and basil. I was in heavennnnn and I loved that I could get such a satisfying, filling meal right in the middle of the afternoon!
I love that Eat + Drink Week got me out to try something new and made it so I didn’t have to break the bank to do so. I’m super excited for West Hollywood to do this again. If you missed it this past week, it runs until 10/27 so take advantage of all these amazing restaurant deals while you can!!
