The Gilded Bellini at The Patio on Lamont
The Patio on Lamont is one of San Diego county’s most well known brunch spots. With a cozy, charming and very lively atmosphere, it’s always been a popular destination amongst locals and never disappoints. When I heard that the Patio on Lamont is famous for its huge, creative list of libations, including crazy twists on mimosas, I knew this was my next brunch destination!
Located in the always sunny and laid-back Pacific Beach, a vibrant town just a little north of San Diego, it’s the main attraction on the corner of Lamont Street. The outside of the restaurant is very home-y looking and inviting.
Walking in, I was surprised at how packed it was! From puppies to babies, to families and friends to couples, the clientele here is eclectic. My brother Steven and I sat outside on the outdoor patio. We were surrounded by lots of cool greenery, hanging décor and cool strung lighting throughout the entire dining area.
Who else were we surrounded by? A ton of ridiculously cute dogs! I love that The Patio on Lamont is so pup-friendly. When I turned to the drink menu, the first thing I noticed was their selection of “Dog-Tails!” The Greyhound, the Salty Dog, and the Hair of the Dog are just a few to name. The coolest part of the “Dog-Tail” concept is that guests who bring in their dogs to brunch can enjoy half off of a “Dog-Tail!” Such an awesome perk. I just wish I had a pup!
I went straight to the mimosa section of the cocktail menu. There are truly so many tempting libations on this menu, but I unexpectedly went with a “Man-Mosa.” The Patio on Lamont’s Man-Mosa is a pint-glass full of mimosa on the rocks with a float of dark rum and a bacon swizzle stick. Talk about a strong twist! I actually loved this drink and it was a great, surprising take on the traditional mimosa. Why didn’t I think of it sooner?!
We started off with the house-made cinnamon roll. It was so yummy! The cinnamon roll was so warm and sweet, and it was evident that it was definitely baked fresh. The icing was on point, and the pecans on top were the perfect touch.
Steven ordered the Salt Roasted Beet Salad, which had pink grapefruit, orange avocado, pistachios and rocket arugula. So fresh! I got the Vegetarian Skillet that I ordered with egg whites, spinach, squash, zucchini peppers, mushrooms and patio potatoes. Filling and healthy!
I definitely plan on coming back to The Patio on Lamont. It’s a relaxed place to brunch yet always has the lively atmosphere that I love. When you’re at The Patio on Lamont, you’ll always love the good vibes, energetic environment and the cool cocktails that this restaurant has to offer… all while sitting under the sunshine on the open patio!
