The Brunching Lifestyle Explained by Brielle Galekovic of The Gilded Bellini
It’s been a long time since I explained what I founded The Gilded Bellini on: the brunching lifestyle. I have always been a firm believer that brunch is not just a weekend meal, but a true lifestyle because there are so many elements that culminate into this fascinating, addictive and fun social experience. I’ve had a lot of new people follow the blog in the last year or so, so I wanted to head back to the foundation.
Of course, as life happens, brands always change a bit and they expand. When I first started The Gilded Bellini, I focused heavily on brunch. Now that I am over 3 years into my site, I’ve covered different topics that all tie into this lifestyle, but even more so relate to my own life. As a content creator and someone who has their own medium, it’s natural to want to cover other aspects of life because, well… I am human and not everything must be pigeonholed, including a brand. I have just learned to keep any of my lifestyle topics relatively in the same bubble of the foundation of TGB.
Anyway, I have always briefly explained that I used to live in NYC and during the time that I lived there I really developed this love for all aspects of brunch. When I moved to California, I noticed that there was a very similar interest, or for lack of better words, a dedication to getting together and going to brunch every weekend. Let’s face it: anyone in the 18-35 year old age gap (which is a big one) loves being social. An activity that not only let’s people drink, eat and be together for hours on end sounds pretty appealing to just about everyone.
Through my years of brunching on the weekends, I noticed that there was a very loose formula to the weekend ritual. Like I mentioned above, a majority of people love to go to brunch on the weekends. But there are different strands because depending on the vibe of a specific brunch spot, it attracts a different crowd. This may sound like common sense, but really think about it. For example, a certain brunch spot is going to make people dress a certain way, or it’ll attract clientele that already have a specific style. Just like you have a personal style that you gravitate to, that translates to where you brunch or choose to spend your time.
All in all, what are the elements I feel make up the brunching lifestyle? The ambiance, the clientele, what you’re wearing, where to be seen, the quality and uniqueness of the food and cocktails, and the aspect of it bringing together groups of people. It’s a fabulously attainable lifestyle that any one can experience, and there are no limitations. Overall, it’s a positive experience for all. You’ll see that on my site, I have separate sections to showcase this: Behold, The Best Brunches (brunch reviews), Brunch Attire (what to wear to specific brunch spots), Cocktail Spotlight (highlighting awesome cocktails and their recipes), and Extra Shots (anything and everything lifestyle related).
Every person has their taste in the types of brunches they prefer. But whether you’re going to your favorite party brunch or heading to your favorite hole in the wall, what matters the most is that people are being brought together to celebrate and enjoy an experience that can be done over and over again in so many different ways.
I’ll leave you with my YouTube trailer which I created 2 years ago (crazy how time has flown already!!!) which I think still gives some pretty good insight about the brunching lifestyle and what makes up The Gilded Bellini.
And that, my friends is how I explain the brunching lifestyle. With The Gilded Bellini, I hope to showcase these different elements in ways that can somehow relate to you and your own life. The Gilded Bellini is a destination for entertainment: to be your guide to fun places to venture with friends, and a place that is relatable to your own life: from entertaining tips to at-home cocktail recipes, to budgeting for brunch and other social experiences to getting personal regarding health and wellness. There is the brunching lifestyle, and now for the last 3 years, there is The Gilded Bellini’s brunching lifestyle.
